My passion for coaching began as I did my Masters in Leadership. I thought I was joining a program that would teach me the top 10 things to do as an effective leader. Instead, this program invited me to pull apart my own beliefs and assumptions, to increase my awareness of myself and my impact on others, and to be ready to engage in ongoing messy conversations. These were the steps towards effective, authentic, and transformational leadership!
Through our “Coaching” elective, I was thrilled to see how quickly the conversations shifted and strengths were leveraged. I quickly enrolled in an accredited Coaching program and began my journey to be a ‘coach.'
After many years as a team member, a leader, and reporting to leaders, I felt ready for a change. I was compelled to step away from my role at a private international school and create a business that could support leaders and teams to do this important awareness work.
Today it is my privilege to work with leaders across many sectors – finance, education, policing and more. I have recently developed and implemented an intensive program supporting leaders and teams, which was researched by the Ontario Ministry of Education. It has been so exciting to see those leaders and teams embrace new ways of being – ways that have a positive impact on their teams and themselves.
Beyond work, I am passionate about family. As my kids grow, go and make their mark on the world, I am thrilled to be both a parent and cheer leader! Memories made on trips, at cottages, or just around a meal fill me with gratitude…and there is nothing quite like a grand baby’s smile!
Walks, theatre, and time spent with friends feed my extroverted soul.
Water is a place I love to find myself – whether walking beside the canal, kayaking or paddle boarding, or swimming lengths under the beautiful Mexican sun. With water, I find my peaceful place.
Books pile high as I love to read and learn – podcasts, and books abound to feed my work self; I also love those ‘great escape’ novels, in front of the fireplace or on a beach somewhere.
I love sunsets – and have enjoyed many around the world – Darwin, Maui, Ireland…and my most favourite place to gather to watch sunset is our old family cottage at Sauble Beach.
